Looking Ahead: MIC at the 11th medtech in Mainz
On 25th April 2024, the 11th Medical Technology Conference of Rhineland-Palatinate brought together innovative minds and key players in the industry at the Alte Lokhalle in Mainz. Under the theme “Digitale Lösungen für die Medizintechnik von morgen” (Digital Solutions for Tomorrow’s Medical Technology), the conference shed light on the immense potential of data and its impact on research, innovation and healthcare delivery.
The event focused on pivotal questions such as:
- How can we effectively leverage data?
- What opportunities arise from digitalisation and innovation?
- What emerging technologies are currently under development?
The Medical Device Innovation Center (MIC) of the University Medical Center Mainz showcased its expertise through a booth and confidently presented itself in a pitch. Karolina Nadjafi, the MIC’s coordinator, highlighted the centre’s core strengths: efficiently supporting companies and researchers in acquiring and analysing essential data to demonstrate the safety and performance of their products. In doing so, the MIC has become an indispensable resource for advancing innovative projects through focused research and development.
Alongside a high-calibre programme, the event provided ample opportunity for networking through generously allocated interaction forums between the presentation sessions. At the MIC stand, the high level of interest and numerous conversations showed that the demand for support in the MedTech sector remains as strong as ever. These interactions reinforced the importance of knowledge exchange in promoting product and process innovations that meet market needs.
For the MIC, the 11th medtech proved to be a perfect platform to identify synergies, forge new connections and gain valuable insights into the industry’s challenges. It was another step towards a connected and data-driven future for medical technology.
