The 8th MDR Forum in Mainz: New Directions in Medical Technology
On October 10th, 2024, the Landesmuseum Mainz became the meeting point for leading figures in the medical technology industry. Under the inspiring motto “Shaping the future of MedTech: Where do I stand in the implementation of MDR, IVDR, and DiGA?”, not only were challenges discussed, but innovative solutions were also highlighted.
In close cooperation, the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture of Rhineland-Palatinate (MWVLW RLP), the Medical Device Innovation Center (MIC) of the University Medical Center Mainz, the Innovation Agency Rhineland-Palatinate, and InnoNet HealthEconomy e.V. designed a forum that offered deep insights and practical approaches. Dr. Michael Hopp from the MIC set a motivating tone with his call for relentless research.
The panel discussions were a highlight, particularly with contributions from figures such as Miriam Schulze of BAYOOMED, who impressed with practical examples and strategic insights. Topics such as certificate extensions and specific SME challenges were not only discussed but also supplemented with concrete tips.
The MDR Forum became a platform that not only informed but also inspired. The dedicated execution by the MWVLW RLP and its partners, including the MIC, made the forum a cornerstone of industry development. The dynamic presentations and networking opportunities made it clear: the industry is ready to successfully tackle the regulatory challenges.
