By combining theory and practice as well as science, education, and industry research, we develop groundbreaking concepts and products for dental practices and dental laboratories.

The Interdisciplinary Approach of DICE – a Comprehensive and Tailored Concept for Your Project
Our interdisciplinary team, with expertise in dentistry and regulatory affairs, supports you in in product development and clinical study design. We guide you through to approval process and generate clinical data for a variety of dental products, including innovative toothbrushes to novel biomaterials and prosthetic materials.
With a strong focus on the Medical Device Regulation (MDR), we ensure compliance with the strict requirements for the approval and monitoring of medical devices in the EU. This is particularly important for products containing nanomaterials, substance-based medical devices, and reusable surgical instruments, which must be reclassified under the MDR.

ORTHODONTICS
At the Clinic and Polyclinic for Orthodontics, we offer the opportunity to conduct a broad range of studies, from basic research in cellular laboratories to various clinical investigations.

MAXILLOFACIAL & ORAL SURGERY
At the Clinic and Polyclinic for Oral, Maxillofacial and Facial Surgery, we offer the opportunity to conduct a wide range of studies, from implant surgery to oral mucosal diseases and sedation procedures in dentistry.

PROSTHODONTICS
The Department of Prosthodontics and Dental Materials Science offers a wide range of opportunities for conducting studies related to dental prosthetics, both in preclinical and clinical research. With our extensive network in the dental sector, we can also facilitate collaborations with additional partners from industry or research institutions for specific projects, if desired.
